Localisation

We have successfully localised several software packages, including menu items and help files. One of the products localised through us now forms part of the renowned software Norton SystemWorks.

As with translations of standard texts, we use dedicated software that allows us to edit your menus and strings and helps us ensure the consistency of terminology used. We will work directly on your menu items - there is no need to copy and paste translated text from a word processing package across to your application and hence no risk of errors being introduced during transfer.

Finally, we thoroughly check the translated product, making sure that jumps and links in help pages are all functional and that formatting codes have been inserted correctly. We offer English <=> German localisation services for both Macintosh and PC platforms.

Web Publishing

We can help you localise your web content for a German-speaking audience.

Simply send us your web page/s, and we will extract the text using a terminology management and translation memory package that locks the HTML tags during the translation process and allows the translator to focus on the text. All links, jumps and tags are maintained. We will translate your meta tags, ALT texts and comments (if required), re-create your text buttons and graphics, check your links and proofread the page, reformatting it if necessary.

HTML is reasonably standardised, yet the use of WYSIWIG editors can occasionally cause major changes in your document codes. This is a common source of problems when translating web content. Our approach ensures that no unwanted code will be inserted in your material.

We will return to you a localised document ready for uploading. There's no need for you to transfer material back to a web designer. This means considerable time savings and the elimination of a major source of errors.
